CHURCH OF THE HOLY ROSARY
It Will Be Dedicated by Bishop McDonnell on Sunday Next.

The Church of the Holy Rosary, Chauncey street, near Reid avenue, will be dedicated with all the beauty of the Roman Catholic ritual Sunday, October 7, at 10 a.m. Bishop McDonnell will officiate and will administer confirmation later in the day. This church was organized by the Rev. D. Monteverde about five years ago and the businesslike way in which he went about the work and the able manner in which he has managed the finances of the church, presenting to the people at regular intervals printed copies of the receipts and expenditures, have aroused the admiration of his congregation. Father Monteverde informed the people at the outset that the church was their property and asked not only their cooperation, but their advice and counsel. The edifice speaks for itself, no lavish ornamentation has been indulged in, but one of the finest temples in this city has been erected. The Rev. Matthew J. Flynn is the assistant and is also organist. He is not only a great lover of music, but is an artist of ability whose work is attracting widespread attention and is bringing the Holy Rosary church to the attention of the music loving public. Like the pastor, he is very popular among the people and his addresses at the masses on Sundays are noted for their logic and for his familiarity with all matters connected with the church.

The musical programme prepared for the dedication services will be very elaborate. In order to afford all who wish an opportunity to attend the admission fee, which will include a seat, has been fixed at 25 cents. Prominent laymen from all parts of the city will attend and by their presence show their appreciation of the work of two zealous, painstaking and popular priest
